Twin Falls: this is what happens when you leave the blogging to the husband

No, my voice has not been lowered, it is Dustin. I am still using Abish's user info, because I can't be bothered to figure out how to create my own. Anyway, Abish has been very busy with her new job as a scrap book layout/kit designer at PGD (Pixel Gypsy Designs)...so she has left the blogging to me. You can tell what a bang up job I have been doing with it for the last month or so, but that is all about to change. We are all very proud of Abish and how she has really put herself into this digital scrap booking design gig. Sometimes I get frustrated trying to explain to people what it is she does, then I remember that I am in photo lithography. Here is some fun stuff that has been going on with us since last Abish blogged.
We went to Twin Falls for the temple open house. It was beautiful, peaceful and the kids were as well behaved as can be expected, it was fantastic.

The temple isn't the only great thing in Twin, the Christensens also live there. Lindy and Ryan became fast friends. After playing together for a while at the Christensens', on the way to the bark they were already saying that they were best friends. The park was perfect for releasing some of the energy pent up during the temple tour.

Here is Bianca starting to warm up to Aunt Dana. She eventually let Dana hold her. Michael and Dana were great and we appreciate very much them having us over. Thanks, guys!!

Shoshone falls, one of the "twins," very pretty.

Completely unrelated, but Bianca has moved from army crawling to walking along the furniture and crawling on all fours. She will stand at times, and even takes a step every once in a while, but still lacks the confidence to do any serous walking. She is as cute as a button.

Trip to Oregon: Day One

Well, we made it to Oregon and back. We left on Monday morning and drove back Friday. Our first day was mostly driving, not much to see on the way. By mid afternoon we made it to Multnomah Falls and hiked to the lookout at the top of the falls. It was not easy, because of how steep the incline was, but it was totally worth it. Dustin was carrying Bianca in the backpack and Lindy would only walk for 10 steps and then she would say that she was to tire to walk. So, Dustin came to the rescue and carried both girls up to the top. All the way up and down people would give him complements for toughing it out with two kids on his back. After that we were all very tired and decide it to call it a day after we had dinner. So, here are some pictures of our first day.

View of Mt. Hood from the highway.

We did it!

Taking a break.

So much easier on our way down.

Day Two

Our second day started with clouds and rain. But luckily it did not last very long. Our first stop of the day was a place called the Grotto. It's some kind of botanical garden with Catholic statues along the paths. I'll just say that we're most likely not going back. After that we took Lindy to the Children's Museum. She played for two hours straight, going from one thing to another. After that, we visited Dustin's old neighborhood and ate at Annie's. It was nice to walk down memory lane with him. The Rose Garden was our next stop. It was a nice place to walk around and enjoy the flowers.

Day Three

This day was all about the beach. We started by driving to Astoria and then to Seaside where we got to play on the beach. This was Lindy's first time at the beach and she loved it. She started by just getting her feet wet and then the rest is history, she got her clothes all wet and we had to put her swimsuit on. Even though the water was cold we still had a great time. After that we drove to Cannon Beach, and I'm glad we did. It's such a cute little town. By the time we were done there it was past five. We thought that the cheese factory would be closed by the time we drove to Tillamook, so we decided to drive back to Portland. Later we found out that it would it been open, but I guess that will leave us something to do for next time.

Day Four

Our first stop was the Pittock Mansion. It was very interesting to walk through the house and see how they used to live. The views of the city below were also great. After lunch we walk around Downtown and one of our stops was Voodoo Doughnut. We heard about it on the Food Network and decided to give it a try. It's definitely not your typical doughnut shop but their doughnuts are pretty good. After walking around Downtown we took a break. And to finish our day we drove to Tigard to see the Temple. It's such a beautiful Temple. Lindy wanted to go inside and take a picture with Heavenly Father. You've got to love her innocence. Well, that was the last of our stops before we headed home the next day.

View of the city from the garden of the Pittock Mansion.

The day would not have been complete without Lindy getting into trouble. First she stuck her foot in the reflecting pool and to top it off, she got her shoes all muddy in the wet grass.

Last two weeks

Well, I'll start with Bianca. The poor thing was sick again, this time a bladder infection. So they prescribed some antibiotics and for almost a week everything was going well. Yesterday I went to pick her up after she woke up in the morning and discover that she is covered in some kind of rash. You guessed it, another visit to the doctor. The diagnosis was 1) Virus (they sure love this one), 2)allergic reaction to the antibiotics, so we stopped that, or finally 3)chicken pox. The good news is that I don't think it is chicken pox because it doesn't look like blisters, but more like red patches. And now we just have to wait and see. If she gets better in the next few days we'll be able to take our trip to Oregon. And as for the other three of us everything is going well. Not much to report on that. Anyway, this was my short summary of the last two weeks. I hope the next one is a bit more cheerful. Bye everyone.

This is a video of Bianca taking some of her first steps.

Pictures

Here's Lindy at the playground of one the many parks we've been this summer.

Bianca riding on Dad's shoulders and holding on by one of his ears.

Going down the slide for the first time.

Bianca and Lindy playinfg on the floor. Bianca is able to sit up all by herself now.

And here she is eating watermelon.

In these pictures Lindy is practicing her not so fake smile. I think she is getting better.

I'll try to get a video of Bianca crawling, she is fast. Have a great day everyone!
