Temple Square fun!

On the way to Arizona, we stopped by the Salt Lake temple to see the Christmas lights. They have added a lot of cool new stuff since last year. It was truly a great time.

Here is the view from the south of the temple. When I think of the temple I think of seeing it from this angle.

Here is Lindy looking at one of the nativity scenes that they have in place. I like how it looks with the newly fallen snow-very Christmas spirited.

The temple from the East. There is a pedestal there where people can stand with the temple in the background. The temple is quite pretty enough by itself though.

I actually thought that Bianca was looking when this picture was taken and didn't realize that it had turned out like this until I went to blog it. At least it is an accurate portrayal of her, she is always distracted with something.

Christmas Parade

On Saturday Boise had a Christmas parade and we took Lindy because she wanted to see Santa. A lot a people were there and it was a bit chilly. At about 10 minutes into the parade it started raining, well it was more like a heavy drizzle. The parade was not very good, it was mostly cars for some reason. Finally after more then an hour it was over. I didn't take many pictures because it was not very interesting. Here's some of them.

Christmas Tree

It was a busy Friday for us, first we did the outside and later we did the inside. While Dustin and Lindy set up the tree I got to put up other decorations. Lindy couln't help herself, she was so exited to decorate the tree. You could totally tell where she was hanging the ornaments, her little spot was full.

At about half way through decorating the tree, we realized that some lights were not on. So after trying to fix the problem for about 30 minutes, Dustin came up the the solution to simply just turn the tree so that the part where the lights were not working would be in the back. And so we did. We also had to move some of the ornaments around a bit so that they would be on the part facing the front.

In case you're wondering where Bianca was during this time, here's a picture. In order to take the tree's box out of the closet Dustin had to take the swing out first, so when Bianca woke up from her nap she wanted to be put in the swing. She looked so huge in it, but at least she was entertained while we finished the tree.

And here's our finished tree. So far the girls have been very good about not playing with the ornaments.

Christmas lights

The Friday after Thanksgiving we decided to put up our outdoor Christmas lights. It was a nice sunny day with a light wind, and we all enjoyed the time together.

After we could not help Dustin anymore, because he was on the roof, Lindy started playing with her chalk, and Bianca decided that she wanted to do the same as her big sister. So, here's the result. Yep, she's eating the chalk, whenever I would turn around she would take the chalk and put it in her mouth.

Our driveway has a bit of an incline, so is hard for Bianca to keep her balance.

And here's the end result. Thanks Dustin!

My dinner impossible

This year was my first time cooking Thanksgiving dinner all by myself, well Lindy help a little. And it was a lot of work, but it was worth it in the end. The first step was to write everything that needed to be prepared and cooked on the board, and to go from there.

Our turkey was on the smaller side(thank goodness) so it didn't take to long to bake. It was my first time ever baking a turkey, so I'm happy to report that it turned out all right. It didn't brown as I would it hope, but it was yummy, which is what really matters in the end.

For side dishes we had mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon, stuffing, and homemade cranberry sauce.

Here's my sous-chef testing the potatoes.

And here just been silly.

This is my apple pie/tart.(for some reason blogger turned the picture)

Here's Bianca enjoying her dinner. The stuffing was her favorite.

And here are my two great helpers, cleaning up after dinner. For some reason Lindy decided that she wanted to wear her helmet. :)

And here are our leftovers. It was a lot, but we did eat it all. Well, there's still some turkey left, but it's in the freezer now. I just could not eat it anymore. So, just as a hint, when we go visit you in December, please no turkey. :)

Time for an Update

Well, it's been a long time since I made a post and I guess it's time to update you on what's going on in our lives. First I want to say that my Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few weeks ago. Since than he's been in and out of hospitals and such. He had surgery this past Wednesday to have his prostate removed. It was a long surgery but everything went well. Today he got to go home. At this point I'm not sure what the next step will be, but we are glad it has gone well so far.
Also, we are very glad and thankful that Dustin has a job. It's something completely different from what he was doing before, with the exception that it still has to do with semiconductors and he works for Micron. He says that is a good job and he is happy and that he feels a little more like an engineer now. And another very good thing it's that there will be no more night shifts. His schedule is from 7 to 4 M-F. It might change a bit in the next few months but it still won't be nights.
Lindy is growing and learning so much. Her favorite thing to say or should I say ask is "What is this?" and her other favorite one is "How do you spell it?". Who knows she might be in the spelling bee contest someday. She loves going to Pre-school and playing with her friends. Another thing that is growing is her wish list for Christmas. Some highlights are a real pony ("with like real legs," she told us), a motorcycle, and a guitar, Oh! and let's not forget a costume for Dad (a pilot's costume to be exact) Got to love our Lindy.
And there's Bianca, who's walking and becoming more independent everyday. She loves to get into all the drawers and the bathroom whenever possible. So far she has manage to throw only one thing in the toilet. She has 8 teeth and 2 coming. She loves to be out and about. She know when we're getting ready to go and she won't let go of us. She's our funny smilling baby. That's another of her things, she loves to make you laugh.
Now this is Dustin with an update about Abish. She has given a lot to her scrapbook page designing and although it is not too lucritive, a lot of people like what she does. Even more so around the house. She keeps this place running in top shape even though her two girls and husband aren't all that much help. We love her bunches.
We are exited for the holidays. We'll be home for Thanksgiving Day and then in Arizona for Christmas. We are counting the days and planning our trip. Well, that was our update for today. We will try to make the next one soon.

Lots of Pictures

My little smiling baby. It's so easy to make Bianca smile lately, and we love to see her smile.

Here's my other smiling girl. I took this picture on her first day of school. It was so cute to see her face light up whenever she would say "Preschool" instead of saying cheese.

And here we have the Halloween pictures.

Lindy picked her costume, and as you can see, she decided to be Little Red riding hood. She wanted to be so many different things. The first choice was a ghost, and some of the other choices were a cowgirl, a princess, a witch, and a pirate.

Bianca did not have much of a choice. I picked a Bumble Bee costume for her. and here she is trying to eat it.

Trick or treating.

We all decided to go together, so we set our bowl of candy outside for the other kids to grab the candy as they came. We were not the only ones in our neighborhood with this idea, but I think we were the only ones that came back to find an empty bowl. Oh well, it's not like we needed the extra candy. With a full and heavy pumpkin Lindy decided that she had enough and wanted to go home. She didn't have to twist our arm.

Favorite treat: suckers

One Fall Day

Is it Fall or Winter?

Talk about crazy weather. To give you an idea of how crazy the weather has been this week I'll show you some pictures. Remember our pictures at the pumpkin patch(Monday), it was cool but not to bad. Here's a picture of our tree(Wed.)

Here is Lindy helping me water the tulip bulbs we just planted. (I can't wait for Spring.) Anyway, notice that Bianca is wearing her hoodie. It was a bit chilly that day, and windy on top of that.

And here's our tree on Friday.

The umbrella in our backyard

The view from Lindy's room.

And of course Little Miss I-want-to-play-in-the-snow even if it feels like 27 degrees outside and it's getting dark.

That's our crazy weather! And the week it's not over yet. The craziest part is that two and a half weeks ago we had the A/C running. We like having the four seasons, but don't necessarily need them all at once.
